Prayer Ministry

Andy and Hazel Smith have been serving the church for over 25 years by providing pastoral care with an emphasis on Christian prayer ministry to believers needing inner healing and spiritual freedom. 

The worldwide church has seen many thousands of lives transformed in recent years as God has increased his church’s understanding and practise of this effective, biblically-based ministry.

The Lighthouse was established by the Smiths in October 2012 at the invitation of Bethany Community Church with a vision, not only to minister healing and freedom to members of BCC, but also to develop a Lighthouse Ministry Team that could serve the wider church community. 

Team members are principally trained to deliver Restoring the Foundations ‘Issue Focus’ ministry and Unbound ministry. We also use other proven ministry ‘tools’ when appropriate and have access to a qualified Associate Christian Counsellor.

Our foundational scripture is taken from Isaiah 61; God’s call to all His people:

“The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.”    

Our Lighthouse team is engaged in the joyful task of helping to facilitate the ongoing sanctification and transformation of men and women in our home church as well as other congregations. These have included Baptists, Pentecostals, Anglicans, Salvationists, Roman Catholics and Methodists; both evangelical and charismatic. Ministry to members of other churches is only conducted with the approval of their church leadership to ensure a post-ministry provision of care for each ministry receiver.
