Giving

Giving at Bethany

We’re a family, and families share. Here’s how to give, and where it goes.

Why we give

We give because we’re family.

Bethany isn’t an organisation we use. It’s a family we belong to. In a family, everyone shares in what it takes to keep it strong.

When we give, we’re not paying for a service or supporting a cause from a distance. We’re investing in the health of our family, helping it grow and reach more people, and making it a blessing to Harpenden and beyond.

God has been generous with us, so we give with open hands and glad hearts. Nobody gives alone, and together we can do what none of us could do on our own.

Key verses: Acts 2:44-45, 2 Corinthians 9:6-8, Galatians 6:10

Visiting? Please don’t feel any pressure to give. Giving is for those who call Bethany home. For now, you’re our guest.

Gift Aid

Make your giving go further.

If you’re a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid lets us claim an extra 25p for every £1 you give, at no cost to you.

Giving online? Tick the Gift Aid box as you give. Giving by standing order or in the basket? Please get in touch with us about Gift Aid. It’s a great way to maximise your giving.

To qualify, you need to pay at least as much UK Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax as all the charities you give to will claim on your gifts in a tax year. You’re responsible for paying any difference.

Questions

Questions about giving.

Do I have to give?

No. If you’re visiting, please be our guest and don’t feel any pressure. For those who call Bethany home, we’re a family, and we each share in what it takes to keep it healthy. Give as you’re able, and as you’ve decided in your heart.

How does online giving work?

Our online giving page runs through ChurchSuite. Card payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay are processed by Stripe, and Direct Debit by GoCardless. You can choose a one-off or a regular gift.

Can I change or stop my giving?

Yes. If you give online, use the “Manage giving” link in your confirmation email. If you give by standing order, change or cancel it with your bank.

What is Gift Aid, and how do I add it?

Gift Aid lets us claim an extra 25p for every £1 from UK taxpayers, at no cost to you. Tick the Gift Aid box when you give online, or get in touch if you give another way.
